"Water is the New Oil", St. Louis, 08/30

Saturday, August 30, 2008 - 08:00pm EDT (GMT -0400)

While western politicians and consumers fret over the declining economy and increasing oil prices, the news from East Africa is that with a growing majority of the world living on less than a dollar a day, the liquid that fuels bodies is becoming even more contentious than the liquid that fuels cars.

Reporting from Ethiopia and Kenya, multimedia journalists Sarah Stuteville, Alex Stonehill, and Jessica Partnow take an in depth look at East Africans' struggles for water and how the actions of Americans are both alleviating and intensifying the problem. Brought to you by International and Area Studies, Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, Sigma Iota Rho, Engineers Without Borders, Green Action, and Student Union.

When: 8 P.M. September 30, 2008
