On the Border: Inside Casa Vides

One summer afternoon, a mile and a half from the closest bridge to Mexico, a Border Patrol van dropped off a group of pregnant women from Central America at an El Paso migrant shelter called Casa Vides. The shelter is affiliated with Annunciation House, a faith-based nonprofit that has led efforts to support refugees. When the women arrived, the nuns who were working at Casa Vides jumped into action. A look inside the shelter gives an overview of how nuns are tending to the needs of migrants on the border.
