New Bern, NC: Jon Sawyer Speaks on "Africa Beyond the Stereotypes"

The Rothermel Foundation will be hosting a panel titled "Africa Beyond the Stereotypes" to discuss the future of democracy in Africa and the obstacles of engaging the greater public's interest. Panelists include Jon Sawyer, executive director of the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, Georges Nzongola-Ntalaja, professor of African studies at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Jim Thomas, founder of Africa Rising, and director of the Program in Public Health Ethics at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and John Beck, who is recently retired from World Concern.

The panel will be held in the sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church and will be followed with brief refreshments. All Rothermel Foundation events are free and open to the public.
