Chris Hedges has a piece on Truthdig that I think is probably pretty accurate. Which leaves me sitting here in Kurdistan, finally out of Baghdad, which is now in the midst of a three-day curfew for a celebration to commemorate someone who died 1300 years ago, wondering what difference anything I've done will make. I spent the last month risking my ass to report on the US military allying itself with war criminals. Meanwhile, Iraqis died in the hundreds.
