As the world looks towards the December summit in Copenhagen, the Nepali government, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, DFID and Danish Embassy are arranging their own pre-Copenhagen negotiations for Himalayan nations. On August 31st and September 1st, representatives from the Himalayan region are scheduled to meet in Katmandu to debate and strengthen South Asian positions before the meeting in Copenhagen.

We've talked to Nepali experts on climate change and it's impact on South Asia:

Until they were 6, Bill and his friends Emmanuel and Jean-Jacques lived together in Mkugwa, a camp of 2,000 Central African refugees in Northwest Tanzania. Their parents were close friends, and the boys grew up sharing meals, soccer games, wheelbarrow rides. Then, in October 2006, everything changed.

"Languages on Ice" examines the work of prize-winning Professor Lenore Grenoble, who is looking at how Greenland has done so well at retaining its native tongue despite incredible environmental and societal pressures.

On June 4th Narayan Mahon and Tristan McConnell arrived in Somaliland to begin reporting from this unrecognized breakaway region of Somalia. Tristan McConnel introduces the reporting project from the city of Hargeisa in the northwestern region of Somaliland.

Nestled in a remote northern Honduras valley, Santa Lucia and the surrounding area are home to 20,000 rural inhabitants. These families rely solely on their agrarian skills for a subsistent living. But according to UNICEF, over one-third of Honduran infants are malnourished due to their indigenous lifestyle.

Control of the rivers that run through the region has always been a potential source of conflict between India and Pakistan.

Iason Athanasiadis interviewed by Joe Rubin on Frontline/World's iWitness

This is not your expected tale of a three-week stint in an Iranian prison. Photojournalist Iason Athanasiadis-Fowden, who was in Iran covering the recent disputed elections and massive protests that followed, was trying to leave the country ahead of his visa expiring when he was arrested and charged with espionage. He spoke to us over Skype from his parents' home in Greece shortly after being released from prison.
