Pulitzer Center Update

Mark Schulte joins Pulitzer Center staff as National Education Coordinator

The Pulitzer Center is excited to announce that Mark Schulte is joining us as National Education Coordinator. Mark has spent the past decade teaching at Washington International School in Washington, D.C., most recently as director of online initiatives. While at WIS Mark developed an online student news collaborative, the Student News Action Network, that offers young journalists from across the globe a platform to share their reporting and interact with one another. Mark began his career as a magazine writer and editor covering Virginia politics and education. His background as educator and journalist, and his passion for the development of web technologies, make him an ideal person to continue building the Pulitzer Center's Global Gateway Education Programs. Mark received his undergraduate degree from Oberlin College and holds a master's degree in Interactive Journalism from American University.

We're very sad to lose Kate Seche, our current education coordinator--but we know she'll be happy in the classroom and we're excited to work with Mark as we bring Global Gateway to an ever wider audience.
