Arianne Lachapelle Henry

Arianne Henry graduated from Boston University’s School of Public Health with an MPH concentrating in Global Health in 2018. As a former research and teaching assistant for the Center for Health Law, Ethics, and Human Rights (CLER) she engaged in research, writing, and advocacy related to social justice, health, and human rights. While working for CLER, she co-authored two papers—one on human rights and The Complicated Legacy of the Nuremberg Code and a second—A Health and Human Rights Agenda for Human Trafficking.

After graduating, she traveled to Ethiopia in February 2019 as a Pulitzer Center Reporting Fellow to report on Ethiopian girls and women trafficked as domestic workers to the Middle East and what happens to them when they return home traumatized and in need of mental health care. She currently works for Partners in Health as a local health liaison for the COVID-19 Community Tracing Collaborative (CTC) which was "designed to not just flatten the curve, but bend the curve downward to more rapidly reduce the number of cases in Massachusetts." Prior to attending Boston University, she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Suriname. Translating what is happening on the ground to the greater world is a significant part of global health work, and she hopes to illuminate unjust forces impacting the marginalized, discriminated against, and forgotten.
