Philip Shishkin spent ten years as a staff reporter of The Wall Street Journal, most of it as an award-winning foreign correspondent. He ran the newspaper’s Iraq and Turkey bureaus until late 2007, and has also reported from Afghanistan, the Balkans and Syria. In 2005, he conducted extensive reporting in Central Asia, covering uprisings in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. He lives in Boston with his wife and son.
